About us

We Bike Amsterdam provides guided bike tours in Amsterdam and the countryside by local guides. We are a collective of enthousiastic guides with a passion for Amsterdam and cycling.

With our bike tours we want to show you the real city of Amsterdam and Holland’s countryside. Like all Dutch, we are born on a bike and grew up cycling. Living in Amsterdam means we cycle every day and we believe the best way to really become part of this city is to bike through it. Everywhere you go as a tourist, you’re trapped in the ‘tourist bubble’ and while the layer may seem obvious, it’s sometimes hard to take a peek beyond or fully escape it.

On our own travels around the world we always feel a strong attraction to the more authentic and ‘real’ sights of our destinations. Besides the important landmarks and highlights we love to discover local spots and ‘lowlights’. The must see sights of the city but also the best places for coffee. The beautiful old buildings and their history and but also the restaurants that are off the tourist trail. It’s the hidden gems and the secret spots that are most appealing to us. The places only locals know about and that are just off the beaten track.

Growing up in Amsterdam we’ve discovered a huge array of the most charming places, surprising spots and interesting locations. We started our small bike tour company because we want to share them all with you.

At We Bike Amsterdam, we want to show people all the things that we would want to see ourselves.

City breaks with kids: Amsterdam – The Guardian about We Bike Amsterdam

” Cruising the Dutch landscape in a bakfiets (the quintessential Dutch family bike or child transporter) puts an adventurous spin on the family biking experience. WeBike Amsterdam (four-hour group tour €32.50pp, under-2s free) offers family-friendly packages and private tours. Visit a picturesque Dutch village while pedalling past windmills and waterways. A huge hit with our family was the midway break at a cosy cafe with traditional Dutch apple pie. ”

10 Best Tours in Amsterdam – Condé Nast Traveler about We Bike Amsterdam

” Cycling is part of the Dutch DNA, and there are over 880,000 bikes in Amsterdam alone—though three-hour tours by this excellent indie outfit generally top out at around seven cyclists. Between the rave reviews online and the intimate numbers, it’s definitely best to reserve your slot in advance.”

Cycling in the countryside – A Wanderlust for Life, Jessica Cutrufello about our Countryside Bike Tour

This bike tour was so chill. The guide from We Bike Amsterdam would stop every once in a while to point something out. You could stop and ask questions. You can next to the guide or another tour-goer and have a chat.

Private Countryside Bike Tour – The Curious Pixie, Sima about our Private Tours

I’d so recommend venturing out of the city centre, particularly as you don’t have to go too far to see a different side of Amsterdam.
